How a token gets paid
The higher the club is in the league, the more its tokens get paid. A token of the 1st-placed team earns 50% more than the 2nd, five times the 5th, and more than a thousand times the 20th.
What funds the payout
There are an equal number of tokens for each club and a full set of tokens for every club is backed by $1. That $1 earns a return in DeFi and what it earns is divided among the clubs. The underlying DeFi yield is currently 4.0%.
What a token is worth
A club that sat 1st forever would have a fair price of 33 cents, because it earns 33% of the yield on the $1. A club that sat 5th forever, about 6.5 cents. No club sits still, so the price is the market’s expectation of where the club will sit over time: a club at 25 cents is expected to be generally 1st or 2nd, a club at 4 cents around 6th or 7th.
Buy the clubs you think will beat the market’s expectation. Buy the Field against the clubs you think will fall short.
